  • Name: Chris Johnson from New Orleans, LA
  • He Carries: Benchmade Griptilian
  • Comments: "Its a great knife for everyday use, has a spyder hole for easy opening, AXIS lock, mine is 50/50 serated for cutting through tough materials, and is legal where I live. In Louisiana the limit is 4 inches. I carry this knife everyday for protection and for the purposed which require a good knife. 154cm is a great steel and the black coating makes it easy to clean and protect from rusting. "

I bought it when I was about 19 and is one of the few things I have been able to keep from losing all these years. I am now 44."
  • Cole's Comments: I don't have a lot of experience with Remington knives besides looking them over before selling them. They look like pretty good knives. I am fond of the Remington Zulu series. Pretty neat looking knives, and factory razor sharp.

When his knife was destroyed while his clothes were on fire when his truck hit an IED and he and h1is partner were injured I contacted SOG and without hesitation they offered to send him a new one which they did immediatley. We now own many because when a company builds an extraodinary product and backs it up with real support for t.hose who protect our freedoms I am a customer and promoter of that company for life "
  • Cole's Comments: I sure do like that SOG brand. It sounds like the company is full of good folks from your comments. It means a lot to me when a company will actually step up to the plate and support the troops whether it be verbally or with helping out.

  • Loren's Comments: "Great Pocket Knife !"
  • Name: Gary from Lincoln NE
  • He Carries: Old Timer-Case Shrade
  • Occupation: Landman
  • Gary's Comments: "I am looking for a 2" to 2 1/4" closed single or double blade pocket knife. I have carried a small pocket knife all of my life. With all of the new security a small high quality knife poses only a minumum of risk to other people and lets me have the help a small knife offers."
  • Cole's Thoughts: Well, when it comes to pocket knife carry in relation to all the new security, just be careful. I work in law enforcement and can tell you that many agencies and departments are burdened with so many silly rules and laws in this post 9/11 era, that the powerful tool of officer discretion is being stripped away. The days of the police officer telling you, "You shouldn't oughta carry that knife here, it's really not legal so just keep it in your pocket and out of site", are over. The officer is now required to arrest you even against his own best judgement or his butt is on the line. So, be careful where you carry.

  • He Carries: Al Mar, AG Russell,Case, swiss army-victorinox-not wenger. He carries Swiss Rrmy knife - Waiter
  • Occupation: financial research
  • Andrew's Comments: "Pretty much I always have a knife in my pocket, I try to avoid "weaponized" double edged stuff although I did buy a cheap sting from CRKW & AG-what a silly knife! I never even owned a razor blade knife. The swiss army us the great ugly duckling, it comes with little extras you can use like pry bars and not ruin your nice knife blade doing things it was not made to do but often need doing. "
  • Cole's Thoughts: Ya know, I never actually carried a Swiss Army in my pocket, but for many years I kept one in my duty bag and I can assure you, I used the heck out of it. One of my fellow LEOs stole that little buger from me and I would sure like to locate it. Anyway, Swiss is world famous for their all purpose tools.

  • Occupation: Librarian
  • Gerard's Comments: "Nice big blade. I really like the steel. "
  • Cole's Thoughts: You're right about the steel, Gerard. The VG-10 is probably the best steel at getting razor sharp and it does hold an edge for quite awhile. I don't think this stuff ever rusts either if you work it over with a bit of oil every now and then.
