Kanetsune Seki Knives - Japanese Tradition

Kanetsune Seki is one of the best master craftsmen in Japan. Kanetsune continues the 800 year old tradition and history of Japanese knife Kanetsune Iridori and sword making. Kanetsune Seki knives remain true to this master craftsmen’s reputable name in terms of their awesome design, faint but robust feel, dignity and presence.

I am very impressed with Kanetsune knives as anyone will be that has the privilege of actually wielding one of these blades. Kanetsune does an amazing job beyond that of many of the master knife and sword makers of this day. I would be so bold to say that the combination of an ancient tradition and knowledge combined with today’s technology give Kanetsune knives the aura of greatness that they possess.

There are so many greats of the Kanetsune Seki knife selection that it is beyond difficulty to choose one over another as far as favorites go. So, with that in mind, I am going to pick out a few that I like (and desire) and just talk a bit about them.

Kanetsune Seki designed and crafted the Urushi knife. This is a fifteen layer Damascus blue steel blade.Kanetsune Urushi The handle is an oak wood with a black cord lacquer finish that is absolutely beautiful. The sheath is wooden and can only compliment this true work of art.

The Kanetsune Shinobi, another masterful work of beauty, is also a fifteen layer blue steel Damascus knife. The handle is a gorgeous oak and shark skin. It is absolutely beautiful and I will have one, someday. Kanetsune Shinobi The blue steel used by Kanetsune Seki is a high carbon steel that boasts of its sharpness. This steel us renowned and widely used amongst Japanese hunters. Blue steel is a Japanese tradition.

If you are a true lover of artful masterpieces, Kanetsune knives will take your breath away. I cannot stress how nice these knives are. Any collector would be extremely pleased to have one of these for their collection.
