To own a Fallkniven knife is to own a true creation by a family firm from Norrbotten, Sweden. This family has been hunters and fisherman for decades so they know their stuff. The Fallkniven knife was first created in 1984 as the family began their operation. Today, they are one of Sweden’s foremost knifemakers.
A Fallkniven knife encompasses generations of knife manufacturing combined with modern technology. The
A1 Fallkniven Knife is one of my favorites knives from the Fallkniven line. The blade material is a tough laminated VG10. With the VG10 steel in this Fallkniven knife being laminated, it adds about another 20% to the toughness of this blade. To sum it up, you’re not going to break this blade. The handle of this knife also has a comfortable agronomical grip. Think of the Fallkniven A1 knife as a Swedish survival knife.
The
Fallkniven F1 Knife is the official survival knife for Swedish Air Force pilots and has been since 1995. Again, this Fallkniven knife has the laminated VG10 blade that is extremely tough. The blade is 3.8 inches long and the entire knife is 8.3 inches long.
The
Fallkniven S1 Knife is a top notch hunting and fishing knife that not a single hunter would be disappointed with. This Fallkniven knife, known as the forest knife, has the laminate VG10 convex grounded blade that has no chance of edge break. The blade of this knife impresses me with its .2” thickness. You’re not going to break this one if you go to chopping down trees for half the day. This is a solid Fallkniven knife.
My Fallkniven knife of choice would have to be the Fallkniven Tre Kronor. Again, you will find the custom laminate VG10 super steel in all of these blades. These Tre Kronor knives are constructed perfect for the firm grip. Once you start toying with this Fallkniven knife you won’t be putting it down.
The Fallniven Tre Kronor knife comes in a variety of handle styles to include cocobolo, zytel, tigerwood, red quince, mother-of-pearl, jigged bone, black quince and thermorun. These knives are very attractive and I assure you, you’ll hesitate to take one of these to the field. They will more likely find themselves hanging above the mantle next to the hunting rifle. Don’t sweat it though, these knives are designed for hunters and are tough. It doesn't get much better than the Fallkniven knife.
