Carrying Concealed and the Benchmade Rukus

When carrying concealed, do not allow yourself to stress over the fact that your firearm may be “printing” or obvious to others around you. Anyone observing you will notice your anxiety. Now, my friend, the one that I mentioned earlier, he never showed the least bit of anxiety about this huge fixed blade Benchmade Rukus. I can’t tell you exactly where he kept his Rukus concealed, because he regularly changed its location. When carrying concealed, you may feel a bit of discomfort in relation to the firearm poking you here or there and shifting about. Don’t allow this to interfere with how you handle yourself. When a person is uncomfortable, it is usually obvious. An uncomfortable person commonly makes an adjustment to get into a more comfortable posture. So, do just that. Adjust your firearm. Don’t be overly obvious. But, make yourself comfortable. Adjust the weapon into a more comfortable position. The longer you let it go, the more obvious it will be that something is not right, and you are blatantly uncomfortable. Imagine having a Benchmade Rukus strapped to the middle of your back.
My friend, he would strap this Benchmade Rukus to his body for long periods of time There were days that we worked sixteen or seventeen hours straight, undercover, and he would have that Benchmade Rukus on his person. He was so natural about carrying this weapon that I would often forget he had it. Then there were days that I would be curious as to where he had his Rukus. He may have his Benchmade Rukus in mid-back, strapped to his leg, or possibly on his thigh. He may even have his Rukus in a belly band of some sort. I would watch him. He may make an adjustment bringing himself to a more comfortable position. But I assure you, I never knew if he was adjusting his Benchamde Rukus or simply scratching an itch.
Have your weapon in a position where you can deploy it as reasonably quick as possible and ensure that it is locked and ready to roll when you pull it. There’s nothing worse than drawing a concealed weapon and the safety be on or it doesn’t have a round in the chamber. Now, let me tell you, my friend’s Benchmade Rukus, it was always ready to go. I guess I was more concerned that we’d be in a shoot situation and my partner would draw that friggin’ Benchmade Rukus instead of his firearm. Now, I assure you that facing the pointy end of a Benchmade Rukus can be a bit unnerving. But, I still don’t want my partner to feel that his Rukus is the weapon of choice in a sticky situation when he’s got a firearm with him.
Carrying a pistol is for only one reason. It’s not for a threat or to intimidate the adversary as many real law enforcement officers think. You don’t pull a gun and make threats. You pull it to “stop” the bad guy. When my partner pulled his Benchmade Rukus, well, I assure you it wasn’t to trim his toe nails. I’ve seen too many law enforcement officers foot chasing someone with a pistol in one hand like T.J. Hooker. This is extremely foolish. This is a good way to get the pistol taken away and possibly used by your adversary to put you out of existence. Or, a partner like mine and his Benchmade Rukus may have to drop in and save the day.
The moral of this story, act natural while carrying concealed and… go buy yourself a Benchmade Rukus.
